Classes and programs for the Fall 2023 season
Tiny Stars

Cost of Tuition: $375.00 Instructed by Miss Katherine Robinson
Our Tiny Stars program teaches students, ages 4 and 5, the fundamentals of dance and voice. You will learn from an experienced industry professional who will inspire you to love all things Musical Theater (and she’s great with kids)! This fun-filled course culminates with two special performances at the beautiful new Lake Forest Performing Arts Center during the Intermissions of our 2 pm Matinee showings of “ELF THE MUSICAL JR.” on Saturday and Sunday, January 27th and 28th, 2024.
This Fall, our 12-Week Course will take place on THURSDAYS from 3:10-3:55 pm at our MTA Studio Location, which includes an exciting onstage rehearsal at the Theater on Thursday, January 25th, beginning at 3 pm and finishing at 4, which is basically your regular class time.
Classes will begin on October 19th. Class will NOT meet on 11/23, 12/28, or 1/4, due to the Thanksgiving and Winter Break Holidays.
Twinkle Stars

Our Twinkle Stars program teaches our slightly older students, ages 6 and 7, the somewhat more advanced fundamentals of dance and voice. You will learn from an experienced industry professional who will inspire you to love all things Musical Theater (and she’s great with kids)! The course culminates with two special performances at the beautiful new Lake Forest Performing Arts Center during the Intermissions of our 2 pm Matinee showings of “ELF THE MUSICAL JR.” on Saturday and Sunday, January 27th and 28th, 2024.
This Fall, our 12-Week Course will take place on WEDNESDAYS from 3:10-3:55 pm at our MTA Studio Location, with the exception of the last week when we will meet instead on THURSDAY, January 25th, for an exciting onstage dress rehearsal at the Theater, beginning at 3 pm and finishing at 4 pm.
Regular Classes will begin on October 18th. Class will NOT meet on 11/22, 12/27, or 1/3, due to the Thanksgiving and Winter Break Holidays
Rising Stars

Cost of Tuition: $1,350.00 Directed and choreographed by JIMMY HIPPENSTIEL
Join MTA’s Rising Stars in our Fall Semester production of “ELF THE MUSICAL JR.” This Broadway-style show will be performed in a state-of-the-art 200-seat theater with full sets and costumes.
A title known the world over, this family-friendly stage musical is appropriate for all audiences and is a hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy that follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to discover his true identity. This magical holiday classic is sure to make every young performer embrace his or her “Inner Elf,” as it features plenty of large ensemble numbers and memorable musical moments that will help all of us to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
REHEARSALS will occur every Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:30 pm for FULL CAST and every Monday from 4:00 to 6:30 pm for smaller scenes and groups as needed. You must be available to be scheduled both days of rehearsal if needed. A more detailed Final Rehearsal Schedule will be provided after the show is cast, and it will reflect any regular rehearsal days that will be taken off in observance of Fall Holidays.
Auditions occur Monday AND Wednesday, September 11th and 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. [Please note: Full attendance at both auditions increases – but does not guarantee – your chance of landing the role you want. Please bring a Snack and/or a Light Dinner to the auditions.]
Regular Rehearsals begin on Monday, September 18th, 2023.
TECH WEEK – January 22nd -25th, 2024, 4 pm–8:30 pm nightly at the Theater listed below.
4 PERFORMANCES – January 26th, 27th, and 28th at 7:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday night, and at 2 pm on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the recently opened LAKE FOREST PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, located at 100 Civic Center Drive in Lake Forest, 92630.

Shooting Stars

Cost of Tuition: $1,475.00 Directed and choreographed by JIMMY HIPPENSTIEL
Join MTA’s Shooting Stars in our Fall Semester production of “THE PROM: SCHOOL EDITION.” Winner of a prestigious 2019 Drama Desk Award for Best Musical, this very fun and playfully sweet Broadway Musical expertly captures all the humor and heart of a classic Musical Comedy with an important message about inclusivity that resonates with audiences now more than ever. “Such a joyful hoot…It makes you believe in Musical Comedy again.” — The New York Times.
REHEARSALS will occur every Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm for FULL CAST and every Thursday from 6:15 to 9:30 pm for smaller scenes and groups as needed. You must be available to be scheduled both days of rehearsal if needed. A more detailed Final Rehearsal Schedule will be provided after the show is cast, and it will reflect any regular rehearsal days that will be taken off in observance of Fall Holidays.
Auditions begin Thursday, September 7th from 6:15 to 9:30 pm . Auditions will continue on Saturday, September 9th from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a scheduled Lunch Break from 1:00-2:00 pm.
