Tiny Stars

Tiny Stars   AGES 4 to 5

Cost of Tuition:  $375.00    Instructed by Miss Katherine Robinson

Our Tiny Stars program teaches students, ages 4 and 5, the fundamentals of dance and voice.  You will learn from an experienced industry professional who will inspire you to love all things musical theater (and she’s great with kids)! This fun-filled course culminates with a special big stage performance during the intermission of our 2 pm matinee showing of “SCROOGE!” on Sunday, November 10th, 2024.

This fall, our 12-week course will take place on THURSDAYS from 3:10-3:55 pm at our MTA studio location, which also includes an exciting onstage rehearsal at the theater on Sunday, November 10th, from 12:45 to 1:30 pm (just prior to your performance).

Classes will begin on August 29th. [Class will NOT meet on October 31st, due to Halloween]

Twinkle Stars

Our Twinkle Stars program continues to teach our slightly older students. ages 6 and 7, the fundamentals of dance and voice.  The kids will learn from an experienced music industry professional that will inspire them to love all things musical theater (and is great with kids)!  The course culminates with a special big stage performance during the Intermission of our 2 pm matinee showing of “SCROOGE!” on Sunday, November 10th, 2024.

All-Academy

Scrooge
Our Third EVER All-Academy Show!   AGES 7 to 18

Cost of Tuition:  $1,395.00. Directed and choreographed by JIMMY HIPPENSTIEL.

Join MTA’s “All Stars” in our Fall Semester production of “SCROOGE!” This Broadway-style show will be performed with full sets and costumes at the stunning El Dorado High School 638-Seat Performing Arts Center in Placentia.

In this timeless musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge undergoes a profound experience of redemption over the course of a Christmas Eve night, after being visited by the ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.  A story known the world over, this family-friendly stage musical is appropriate for all audiences, and it features many memorable musical moments that will help all of us to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

REHEARSALS will occur every Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:30 pm for the 7 to 12-Year-Old RISING STARS, every Thursday from 6:15 to 9:30 pm for the 13 to 18-Year-Old SHOOTING STARS, and every Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm for the FULL CAST.  Smaller scenes and groups featuring some leads may be called as needed on select Saturday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, depending on cast and staff availability.  You must be available to be scheduled both days of your age range rehearsals if needed.  A more detailed final rehearsal schedule will be provided after the show is cast, and it will reflect any regular rehearsal days that will be taken off in observance of fall holidays [Such as Labor Day weekend and Halloween].

FULL CAST auditions will begin on SATURDAY, AUGUST 10TH from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a scheduled lunch break from 1 to 2 pm.  Auditions/callbacks for 7 to 12-year-old RISING STARS will continue Wednesday, August 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Auditions/callbacks for 13 to 18-year-old SHOOTING STARS will continue Thursday, August 15th from 6:15 to 9:30 pm.

Please note:  ALL of those auditioning should plan on attending BOTH audition days for the full duration in order to enhance their chances of being considered for a leading role.  Please bring a snack and/or a light dinner to the auditions.

Regular rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, August 21st for RISING STARS and on Thursday, August 22nd for SHOOTING STARS.

3 DAYS OF TECH AND DRESS REHEARSALS – cue-to-cue tech rehearsal will occur on Tuesday, November 5th, from 4:00-9:30 pm (most younger cast members will be released by 8 pm).  Two full dress rehearsals on Wednesday and Thursday, November 6th and 7th, from approximately 4:00-8:30 pm.

 

4 PERFORMANCES – 7 pm shows on both Friday and Saturday, November 8th and 9th, and both a 2 pm matinee AND a 7 pm closing show on Sunday, November 10th.  The cast party will follow (details to be announced) on Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11th.
