Brite Stars – Moana JR! (Single Payment)
Join our Brite Stars Cast (Ages 8 and Up), as we perform Disney’s Moana JR!
Moana Jr is a musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life onstage. Moana JR. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.”
All students should come prepared to sing a song from the show, having reviewed all of the material. Plan on auditioning for more than one character. Students should refer to Music Theater International for all auditioning sides and details. This is an incredible resource to help prepare for this season’s audition.
Go to https://www.mtishows.com/disneys-moana-jr, then click on Audition Central. Each character has a breakdown and songs to prepare. Miss Holly will be using these exact auditioning sides during the audition process. We may not need to hear all the songs or read all the scenes, but any material used will come from this resource.
The cast rehearses are every Monday and Tuesday through production in early March. Monday rehearsals will be scheduled with small groups for scene study and professional filming. A commitment for both days is needed if you wish to audition for a feature role. Given where we are today with the state of COVID-19, things will be very fluid with regards to show dates. Although our hope is to perform this show live in early March, we will have to wait to see how the season plays out before we commit to a live production or a movie release. We will combine Zoom rehearsals with live rehearsals. Smaller groups will meet on Zoom and Live. We will keep the rehearsals fluid with specifics to be given one week before as we move through the season.
Tuesday October 6, 2020 FIRST REHEARSAL! Auditioning Workshop and Parent Meeting will be held live at MTAOC Studio. If needed, we will set up a Zoom presence as well for those who do not want to attend live. All health precautions will be taken as we venture into this season both at the studio and on Zoom. This mandatory class is included with your tuition and will be a day of adjusting to gathering safely and discussing how this season will look. Masks must be worn, temperatures will be taken, and hands will be washed often. We want to be sure we are all comfortable for the beginning of the season. We will discuss this fantastic show and the all the roles available!
It will give you all the specifics on how to prep for auditions and help build confidence. It is the perfect way to give you pointers and help you prepare to bring your best to the auditions and to the season. Parents are free to go after parent meeting.
