Join our Brite Stars Cast (Ages 8 and Up), as we perform Annie, Jr!

The irrepressible comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved, award-winning musicals.

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award-winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

All students should come prepared to sing a song from the show, having reviewed all of the material. Plan on auditioning for more than one character. Students should refer to Music Theater International for all auditioning sides and details. This is an incredible resource to help prepare for this season’s audition.

Go to https://www.mtishows.com/annie-jr, then click on Audition Central. Each character has a breakdown and songs to prepare. Miss Holly will be using these exact auditioning sides during the audition process. We may not need to hear all the songs or read all the scenes, but any material used will come from this resource.

The cast rehearses on Mondays (scene study days) and Tuesdays (full cast called) through production in February, 2022. Monday rehearsals will be scheduled with small groups for scene study. Tuesdays will be full cast rehearsals. A commitment for all days is needed if you wish to audition for a feature role. If you just want to be in the ensemble – then Tuesday’s will be the commitment day.

Monday September 13, 2021 FIRST REHEARSAL/AUDITIONS! Initial auditions and Parent Meeting will be held live at MTAOC Studio.
