Brite Stars

Join our Brite Stars Cast (Ages 8 and up) as we tell the story of Moana!

With current state of COVID-19 and social-distancing – we will do all we can to make this a live on-stage experience. We have just come off a very successful season with Seussical Jr, and were able to pivot and provide a movie/soundtrack of the show – all done from home. We are now building on that skill set within the academy!

The cast rehearses are every Monday and Tuesday through production in early March. Monday rehearsals will be scheduled with small groups for scene study and professional filming. A commitment for both days is needed if you wish to audition for a feature role. Given where we are today with the state of COVID-19, things will be very fluid with regards to show dates. Although our hope is to perform this show live in early March, we will have to wait to see how the season plays out before we commit to a live production or a movie release. We will combine Zoom rehearsals with live rehearsals. Smaller groups will meet on Zoom and Live. We will keep the rehearsals fluid with specifics to be given one week before as we move through the season.

If you enroll, you must comply with CDC guidelines, as we navigate through the season. Classes will be held online through Zoom if unable to meet in person, until such time as we can gather.

Tuesday, October 6, 2020 is first rehearsal, auditioning workshop and parent meeting. For more info – click one of the enroll buttons below!

Once auditions have begun, there will be no refunds.

The Principles of Acting

This semester we will be working on both contemporary and classical monologues and scenes, continuing our journey of the Principles and Foundations of Acting. MTA resident acting coach DEBORAH MATHEWS will teach each student how to become more present in your character’s wants and needs. Your acting journey will begin with online lessons, eventually moving into in person studio lessons, adhering to recommended state safety guidelines as necessary. Online lessons will be scheduled out as full class, semi-private, and private lessons depending on individual rehearsal needs and at the instructor’s discretion. For the first time ever, the material learned in this class will culminate in two showcase performances, in conjunction with the talented kids from our “Broadway Blast” Series. Performance of all monologues and/or scenes will be optional, not mandatory.

Classes will meet for 11 Weeks, 3 Hours a Week, Saturdays from 3:00-6:00 pm, beginning Saturday, September 12th, and ending Saturday, November 21st.
